Backyard Food

I love stepping out into the backyard and harvesting our dinner.  This simple act of growing food and preparing it in the kitchen gives me the most amazing sense of reward and achievement.zucchiniThe addition of some butter, a pinch of nutmeg, a few grinds of seasoning and a small handful of good Parmesan cheese are the only “externals” required to complete this dish.

choppingFry it all up, add the egg and fold it over.  It takes no time at all and cost me about 20 cents in cheese.  It’s fresh, local, and fills both your stomach and your spirit.  It really is the simple things in life…

I just wanted to return the blog visit and thank you for the comment on mine.

Lovely photos! I couldn’t agree more about harvesting one’s own meals. Such a delight.
